Decorate Savannah's Squares for the Holidays

Savannah's Downtown Neighborhood Association (DNA) was organized in the 1970s by a group of downtown area   residents to protect and preserve the quality of life in the Landmark Historic District and maintain Savannah's unique architectural environment.

That purpose remains as vital today as ever.  DNA mobilizes volunteers and raises funds to support these objectives.

The Annual Holiday Tour of Homes is our one major fund-raising event each year.  This is a time when generous residents open their private homes to our tour guests.  Tour proceeds are given back to the downtown community as grants which fund worthy organizations and projects.

We appreciate your participation in these Holiday Tours!  Your participation helps provide funds needed to preserve and strengthen downtown Savannah's beautiful historic environment.

Our funding grants are presented during an annual spring picnic for all members.  We invite you to visit our tour proceeds page to view a list of recent grants and projects funded by the Holiday Tour of Homes:

CONSIDER JOINING THE DOWNTOWN NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION

DNA MEMBERSHIP:  DNA membership is open to anyone who shares our objectives and love of Savannah's Landmark Historic District. We invite your interest, participation and membership -- and especially hope that all Savannah downtown residents will join us.

MEETINGS AND COMMUNICATIONS:  The DNA meets about five times a year. The meetings last an hour and are preceded by a social period so that members have time to get to know each other. Our business sessions address important current issues affecting our neighborhood, and usually feature guest speakers including city and county officials and others who's decisions impact on our environment and quality of life.  We also publish a newsletter periodically during the year to keep our members current on recent developments and advise them of meetings, public hearings, and other activities and projects such as our spring picnic.  We are also responsible for this website, and will soon establish a new overall DNA website to enhance communications with our members and the general public.
